Mad For Garlic and Red Dot BrewHouse

Haven't been blogging lately as I'm busy working part-time. But I will be back to freedom very soon!! hahaha. Its when you started working, you realize the importance of enjoying your precious weekends. Since Yin Mei had the 1-for-1 voucher, we decided to go Mad For Garlic for dinner at Clark Quay. Its very near the taxi stand and Rebel.

Mad For Garlic is a Italian wine bistro and don't be surprised, it is actually originated from Korea! The whole menu is filled with a variety of garlic-specialized dishes.

Tempted to take a wine cork home but didn't. lols

Wyman came to join us for dinner as well and we ordered 3 dishes to share. Researched on Mad For Garlic before I visited the restaurant and alot of reviews stated that the Garlic Snowing Pizza is a must-order dish!

Garlic Snowing Pizza - $19.90
Mad For Garlic special sweet garlic pizza topped with shrimp and pineapple dice
Initially I thought this pizza didn't really looked appetizing but after taking my first bite, I'M IN LOVE WITH IT!!! Yin Mei and I were like, "woah, taste good sia!!" but wyman just sat down there eating calmly. lols. Between the pizza skin and toppings, is actually mayonnaise sauce(i think, at least it taste similar)! I guess thats the reason that makes the pizza taste sweet. Its a good combination where the sweetness can offset the strong garlic taste yet retaining the garlic's fragrance.  I strongly recommend this. =)

Lobster Pasta - $19.90
Garlic cream sauce pasta rich in lobster meat and fish roe
This is my least favorite dish among the 3 that we ordered because I found the whole dish was a tad too salty for my liking. However, they gave generous amount of lobster pieces.

Arrabiata - $16.90
Spicy chilli pasta with bacon slices and crushed pepper in tomato sauce.
*credit to google image.

Didn't take of picture of the dish as we were indulging on the pizza when it was served. So I google this picture online to give you readers a good image of it. Why am I so sweet? LOLS. If I were to rate myself on my level of taking spicy food, I would give myself a 4 out of 10. I do love spicy food but everytime I eat something spicy, I definitely sweat on my forehead and nose even if I'm in an air-conditioned room. Ok, maybe except for KFC and Long John Silver's chilli sauce.

To me, this dish is certainly a "hot chick". I would rate it a 7 out of 10. Wyman only took a few mouthfuls of it and decided to let Yin Mei and I to settle it because he couldn't take the spiciness. lols. We kept spamming ourselves with ice-water but I couldn't stop myself from eating it, its addictive. In my opinion, this dish taste way better than the lobster pasta.

Even with the 1-for-1 voucher, each of us still paid $20 for the meal. Quite expensive in our opinion. However, I'm quite satisfied with the food and I definitely want to visit again. My friends think otherwise though. So if you are a fan of garlic or crave for garlic-licious food, its worth to dine at Mad For Garlic. =)

After dinner, meet up with the rest of my friends and headed over to Red Dot Brew House for a drink.
I think it fits Yin Mei perfectly. LOLS.

Beer Samples
Czech Pilsner, Monster Green Lager, RedDot Lime Wheat, Weizen(Wheat Beer), English Ale and Summer Ale.
When this was served,  Ping Hong said, "来, 干下去" as if it's a shot of tequila. LOLS. This guy drink till siao already. Frankly speaking, I can't really taste the difference except for a few ones. haha. So I can't comment which one is good beer but I prefer the Lime Wheat.

Cheers for the ladies.

A tower of beer to share.
After voting, we ordered a tower of Summer Ale. Sadly my RedDot Lime Wheat wasn't selected because the two other ladies found it too bitter. It was a relaxing night with good food, cooling beer, finger food, smoothing music and random chats. Life like this is great.
