Polymates Meetup.

I like this picture alot, its as if we are taking a photoshoot. You know, like the CD cover of a new band. hahahaha. Seriously think too much.

Anyway, meet up with my polymates last week at newly renovated Plaza Singapura for dinner. Dinner was at Hifumi, a Japanese restaurant located at PS new wing, level 4. When I first heard the name of the restaurant over the phone, I was like, "Huh? Sinful Me?". Hifumi and Sinful me. Close enough. LOLS!

If you order a set meal, there will be freeflow of small sidedishes for you to eat till you drop!

Fried Toufu.

Mochi. It was a bit hard than the usual mochi though.

Chawanmushi

Tempura with sour plum.

There are other dishes to choose from besides those that I've mentioned.

Maindishes

Chicken Cutlet with egg

 Pork cutlet with egg.

For my pork cutlet, I think it tasted alright only. Not till the extent where I could finish up everything. Had  quite a few leftover pieces.

Price was quite okay, each person paid around $17 to $20. Taking into consideration the freeflow of side dishes, should be quite worth it! Besides, you can see authentic Japanese chefs and waiters serving you.

After eating, it was time to camwhore.

There was a screen at the side showing the images captured on the CCTVoutside the lift. We stood under the security camera while the guys took the picture from the screen. If the security guard happened to review the CCTV, he/she might be thinking what the hell were these 3 girls doing. I hope we won't get stomped  for this. LOLS.

Also, there was this small area where they have a "PS I <3 U" on the wall. Camwhoring mode activated.

Yin Mei's shaky hands. =(

followed by a happy look

Had a great time catching up with them. They even planned to meet up for exercise every week. lols. I don't think I can do it. Sunday is a rest day for me! Reason being that I have finally found a job. Just one week of work already made me very stress up. That explains my lack of blog entries. I will blog more frequently once I get the hang of my work and settles down!

Skinny Pizza @ Wheelock

During the last TGIF, met up with Yin Mei after work to watch fashion show and dinner at Orchard. I seem so friendless, forever with Yin Mei and nobody else. Even Yin Mei's mum asked why she always hang out with me. lols.

Without fail, Yin Mei would always plan something every weekend. This time, she won tickets to attend Miss Sixty's fashion show which held at Paragon. I felt very sorry towards her because I was delayed by work and traffic, hence we couldn't register ourselves in time. In other words, we can't sit down on the chairs like a VIP to watch the whole fashion show. Fortunately, it was not a private event, so we still managed to watch it by standing at the side.

Couldn't take a clear picture because the models were walking and my camera just simply sucks. Totally could not take my eyes off the models! Especially the female models, all looked so pretty and skinny. Just like a mannequin walking on stage.Whats more frustrating was that their faces were all so god damn flawless, makes me felt like covering my bumpy and pimple-scarred face with my hair. lols. My eyes were filled with envy throughout the fashion show!!

The whole fashion show lasted only for like 15 -30mins. Feeling mega hungry, we went over to Skinny Pizza at Wheelock for dinner. Basically, what makes Skinny Pizza special is obviously their pizza, with a super thin  and crispy crust which resembles the crackers you'll find in yu sheng.

Its interior gives me an "industrial" feeling.

Side dishes

Sausage, Truffle fries and mash potato.
You can choose any three sides dishes just by topping up an additional $15. Pretty good deal I think. The sausage tasted okay only whereas the truffle fries and mash potato were quite tasty! At least the mash potato won't make you feel too sick of it after a few mouthful.

Ginger Butter Chicken - $23
Chicken dices, onions, hard boil egg and cashew nuts.
To be frank, I think $23 for a pizza is a little pricey. Furthermore, the pizza crust so thin, might not be filling enough to worth the $23. hahaha. As for the taste, it's like a curry pizza, those indian kind of curry rather than those zap chai peng kind of curry if you know what I mean. Taste not bad, feels like eating a crispy version of roti prata instead of a pizza.

Total bill was around $40 even after a 10% discount. Yes, Yin Mei's voucher AGAIN. With her magic wallet, no matter what voucher you want, you name it, she has it. LOLS! So my conclusion is, I don't think this restaurant is worth going for a second time. I'll rather go Mad for Garlic. But do bear in mind, it might be unfair to judge based on one pizza that I've tried. My only advice is that if you're keen to visit the restaurant, maybe you can try some other flavors of pizzas or pastas. =)

Mad For Garlic and Red Dot BrewHouse

Haven't been blogging lately as I'm busy working part-time. But I will be back to freedom very soon!! hahaha. Its when you started working, you realize the importance of enjoying your precious weekends. Since Yin Mei had the 1-for-1 voucher, we decided to go Mad For Garlic for dinner at Clark Quay. Its very near the taxi stand and Rebel.

Mad For Garlic is a Italian wine bistro and don't be surprised, it is actually originated from Korea! The whole menu is filled with a variety of garlic-specialized dishes.

Tempted to take a wine cork home but didn't. lols

Wyman came to join us for dinner as well and we ordered 3 dishes to share. Researched on Mad For Garlic before I visited the restaurant and alot of reviews stated that the Garlic Snowing Pizza is a must-order dish!

Garlic Snowing Pizza - $19.90
Mad For Garlic special sweet garlic pizza topped with shrimp and pineapple dice
Initially I thought this pizza didn't really looked appetizing but after taking my first bite, I'M IN LOVE WITH IT!!! Yin Mei and I were like, "woah, taste good sia!!" but wyman just sat down there eating calmly. lols. Between the pizza skin and toppings, is actually mayonnaise sauce(i think, at least it taste similar)! I guess thats the reason that makes the pizza taste sweet. Its a good combination where the sweetness can offset the strong garlic taste yet retaining the garlic's fragrance.  I strongly recommend this. =)

Lobster Pasta - $19.90
Garlic cream sauce pasta rich in lobster meat and fish roe
This is my least favorite dish among the 3 that we ordered because I found the whole dish was a tad too salty for my liking. However, they gave generous amount of lobster pieces.

Arrabiata - $16.90
Spicy chilli pasta with bacon slices and crushed pepper in tomato sauce.
*credit to google image.

Didn't take of picture of the dish as we were indulging on the pizza when it was served. So I google this picture online to give you readers a good image of it. Why am I so sweet? LOLS. If I were to rate myself on my level of taking spicy food, I would give myself a 4 out of 10. I do love spicy food but everytime I eat something spicy, I definitely sweat on my forehead and nose even if I'm in an air-conditioned room. Ok, maybe except for KFC and Long John Silver's chilli sauce.

To me, this dish is certainly a "hot chick". I would rate it a 7 out of 10. Wyman only took a few mouthfuls of it and decided to let Yin Mei and I to settle it because he couldn't take the spiciness. lols. We kept spamming ourselves with ice-water but I couldn't stop myself from eating it, its addictive. In my opinion, this dish taste way better than the lobster pasta.

Even with the 1-for-1 voucher, each of us still paid $20 for the meal. Quite expensive in our opinion. However, I'm quite satisfied with the food and I definitely want to visit again. My friends think otherwise though. So if you are a fan of garlic or crave for garlic-licious food, its worth to dine at Mad For Garlic. =)

After dinner, meet up with the rest of my friends and headed over to Red Dot Brew House for a drink.
I think it fits Yin Mei perfectly. LOLS.

Beer Samples
Czech Pilsner, Monster Green Lager, RedDot Lime Wheat, Weizen(Wheat Beer), English Ale and Summer Ale.
When this was served,  Ping Hong said, "来, 干下去" as if it's a shot of tequila. LOLS. This guy drink till siao already. Frankly speaking, I can't really taste the difference except for a few ones. haha. So I can't comment which one is good beer but I prefer the Lime Wheat.

Cheers for the ladies.

A tower of beer to share.
After voting, we ordered a tower of Summer Ale. Sadly my RedDot Lime Wheat wasn't selected because the two other ladies found it too bitter. It was a relaxing night with good food, cooling beer, finger food, smoothing music and random chats. Life like this is great.
