My First Night Prawning

Went for my first night prawning last Saturday with my friends at Farmart. I'm not really interested in prawning as I thought the rental of the rod is too expensive(2hours for $25) and the wait for the prawns to bite the bait will be extremely boring.

I'm pretty surprised to see around 20-30 people there at 3am. Some had their nets half filled with prawns, I wonder how many hours they had spent. My friends and I managed to find a small spot and quickly start the preparations. Of course, I sit at the side and watch. hahaha

Step 1: Cut the given pig liver into small pieces.

Step 2: Put it on rod and throw the bait to a good spot.

Step 3: Wait patiently for the prawns to bite the bait.

This is a wrong demonstration. Focus on the bait instead of looking anywhere else.

You can talk while waiting but again, keep your eyes on the prawning rod. haha

Step 4: Once the prawn is caught on bait, pull it out of the water.

Step 5: Cutting the prawn's claws
Do be careful that the prawns have long and thin claws

Remove its claws before they clip on tightly to your hands.

Step 6: Remove the prawn from the bait.

Step 7: Put it into the fishing net hanging at the side.

What we did while waiting for the prawns to bite the bait...
You can relax yourself.

Or get into camera wars. For girls, will be camwhoring session.

Do bear in mind that there will always be false alarm where you thought you've caught a prawn.
"eh... i think we've caught one"

"I feel abit of weight on the rod, 中了 中了!!" *filled with excitement*

but when you pull the prawning rod of the water, you may get empty handed. The prawns can be quite smart and scheming.
"Cheat my feelings. $#^*&%$#^&$"

Thats the basic steps of prawning. I did managed to catch two or three prawns. I would say that it was pretty fun!! In addition, the approximate time to catch a prawn is around 15mins. That's pretty fast. But of course professionals can do it at a much faster rate.

Our catches within the two hours. Only 10 prawns were caught but thats better than nothing. Didn't get to BBQ the prawns as it was aldy 5am and the shop was closing. Also, somehow I'm abit afraid to eat the prawns. I'm a lover of cereal prawns but I just have the psychological fear of eating the prawns that I've caught so I let my friend to bring the prawns home.

Last note, prawning is fun!! but i still find it expensive. lols!

Happy Chinese New Year!

I did enjoyed myself during this chinese new year as I could have 4 days off from school, buy new clothes, get ang baos, eat like a pig, meet up with frens and relatives, blackjack & mahjong. It gave me an excuse to put away my stress on studies and enjoy this festival. Didn't take alot of pictures as I'm too busy eating and gambling!

My 8th uncle made this fish-shaped agar agar.

Steamboat supper at yin mei's house + drinking session.

Nua-ing outside Central while waiting for first bus/train

Mahjong session at sok min's house.
We played those beginners mahjong unlike those who will aim to make 清一色 or 大三元 kind of tiles. Our aim was just to get at least 1 台 and can win. No need big win, small winnings are sufficient to bring smiles on our faces. Surprisingly, I won a few bucks. Usually I don't have luck in gambling.

Last cny visiting at ann's house.
Was really thankful that my ex-colleague, Ann invited me over to her house for cny. I have left the company for 4months already and was previously working different department from them yet they always include me in their outing list. How can I deserve so much love from them?!  =')

As I was late, nice food were nicely placed on the table all ready for me to eat immediately! ok, I sound like some hungry ghost who had not eaten for years but I only ate alittle as I had a belt on my waist and I don't want to eat too much and show the fats around my belly. The sacrifice of wanting to look good.

After dinner was blackjack time. Everyone crowd around the table placing their bets.

In between the gambling session, we had time-out for some ang bao earning games. Ann prepared $4, $6 and $10 ang baos and we had to draw the ang baos to see how lucky we were. Tmd, I got the $4 ang bao. Besides, we had to do some forfeits in order to get ang baos. For example, shouting out "happy chinese new year" at the window, using mouth to pick out fishball among the flour, a girl sitting on her brother's back while he did push ups at the same time(poor brother, his sister is not very small size).and drinking martel on the rock. I prayed hard that I'll get martel on the rock as it should be an easy task for me.

I saw them taking a plate of bread and a shot for me and another friend to choose. Thinking the shot was filled with martel, I choose it as I don't know what disgusting stuffs they might put inside the bread. After a closer look, I was sian to find out it was actually coke with chilli sauce. But the taste not too bad to the extent of puking.

The most sian thing is to see my unglam pictures uploaded on facebook. -_-.

mixing the chilli and coke

SUPER UNGLAM!  *smacks  forehead*
eyes close with mouth open. There is an idiot on facebook who went to "like" this pic.  _|_

another pic making my face damn fat and no eyeballs. *roll eyes*

I'll rather drink 10shots of coke + chilli than to see these unglam pictures!

Lastly was the Lo Hei and the most scary one ever. Normally people just take and Lo as high as possible, but my dear ex-colleagues were Lo-ing it everywhere or throw on people. At the end, 80% of the carrot shreds were outside the plate and even on the floor. lols. Poor maid must be cursing us for keep making the place dirty.

This pretty much sums up my chinese new year. Two weeks of chinese new year just ended like that. This also means my prelims will be in 1 months time and I'm totally unprepared for it. *sulks*

I JUST WANNA HAVE FUN!

Before I go, I'm still very disturbed by my unglam  pictures so I put two of my camwhore pictures to make myself feel at ease.
